The guitar and bass lessons are taught by Mark Lavin.
His style as a musician and as a teacher
is thoughtful, genuine and highly skilled.
He is a professional guitarist and bassist,
who has played and taught acoustic, electric and classical guitar,
and upright acoustic and electric bass guitar for more than 30 years.
Styles include jazz, blues, rock and roll, country, classical and more.
He now centers his performance on the small group jazz in a duo with Sally.

Piano, voice lessons and songwriting are taught by Sally Palmer.
She is a professional jazz singer, and also plays the
piano in the Palmer Lavin Duo. She also has taught for over 30 years.
In lessons, emphasis is on matching the teaching method with the
interests, abilities, and learning style of the student.
Training in voice is all centered around the jazz standard repertoire.
Often the piano lessons are combined with the voice.
Piano lessons include basic theory, and both
chord style and note reading training.

Lesson Policy
Both Sally and Mark charge $20 for a 40 minute lesson once a week.
Payment can be made each week, or for the whole month at the time of the
first lesson of each month. A 24 hour notice is necessary for lesson cancellations,
otherwise there is a $20 charge for the missed lesson.
